My Experiences in Nepal

A dream of my life come true ! By Mr. Susana and Paulo

My wife and I returned a few days ago from Nepal after doing the Gokyo ChoLa with EBC route. We hired one of the packages organized my Before leaving for trekking, we hesitated to go on our own or independently hiring a porter cum guide on the spot at Lukla. We ultimately decided to talk to Going Nepal because of a fairly competitive price and good recommendations from one of their previous clients of Spain. It was an excellent choice and, without a doubt, we would repeat, both logistically and cost-effectively. Nepal is a beautiful place with extraordinary people who leave you amazed with your generosity and interest. However, for some (within the tourist circuit) you do not stop being a person with dollar face. Unfortunately everything is business and you see a lot of inequality. Also as some guides or owner of Hotels take advantage of independent travelers or their own customers. Luckily we were well accompanied. What we liked the most: That our porter, Nima Sherpa, our guide hired him at Lukla, he had good equipment or that was enough for him, a sherpa and slept in a decent bed daily. It seems irrelevant but good manners sometimes shine by their absence. Our guide was aware that neither the carrier nor us lacked anything. He was very empathetic and pleasant, adapting without problems the itinerary as we wanted. No complaints about the accommodations and food, unbeatable considering the Nepalese standard. At high altitude things change a lot, no matter what you have previously informed or what you have trained. You have to be there to feel it. Unfortunately we were not able to cross the ChoLa or go to the EBC for a tormeta of snow that closed the mountain pass. Nor did we have so many days to turn around and climb the valley from below. However, in a moment we changed the plan and we saw in a Buddhist monastery knowing a Lama of 3 years. A unique experience. The flexibility we had and the tranquility of going with someone of confidence was a decisive factor to enjoy our honeymoon. We drove a couple of days back to Kathmandu to visit its valley in more depth. If we had not gone with our guide (Shyam), it would have been impossible. Despite taking guide and go on an organized tour, it is highly recommended to prepare well the trip, we had make transfer in advance and the rest was paid in cash. Lila, Director of Going Nepal, accepted euros so the loss in respect to the currency exchange is minimal. Both he (Lila) and the guide were willing to help us and give us a hand at all times (we do not abuse too much because we are accustomed to travel independently, even so, we thank you to help you honestly). Going back to the beginning, Nepal is a site that captures you. Before going to the Everest region we were hesitant to go to Annapurna, doubt that many people approached us. Many people repeat Nepal. To do the other circuit, we certainly have it in our list, only after having gone understand why. Without a doubt, next time we will repeat going with this Company Going Nepal ( Adiós amigos en Nepal
