Overview
Mustang, especially Upper Mustang (Lo Manthang), is a semi-autonomous, arid Himalayan rain-shadow region where Tibetan culture remains strongly preserved. Dramatic eroded cliffs, ancient cave dwellings, and royal walled towns create a surreal, otherworldly landscape.

Long jeep/overland via Pokhara–Beni–Jomsom then on rough gravel to Lo; 2–3 days from Pokhara with off-road sections. Vehicle: 4×4 jeep. -
By Air
Flights KTM→Jomsom (~25–35 min) then road/jeep to Mustang; flight frequency seasonal and weather-sensitive. -
By Trek
By Trek: Classic trek starts at Jomsom/Muktinath; 8–12 days depending loop to Lo Manthang. Elevation gain: up to ~3,800–3,900 m (Lo Manthang).
