CSR Partnering with DOCS Foundation Nepal for purposes
At Going Nepal, we believe that sustainable tourism is about more than unforgettable experiences, it’s about uplifting the communities we visit and supporting the voices that spark real, lasting change. That’s why we are proud to highlight our partnership with DOCS Foundation Nepal, an esteemed Nepalese non-profit, non-political organization that has been transforming the lives of vulnerable children for over two decades.
The Destitute and Orphan Children Safeguarding Foundation Nepal better known as DOCS Foundation Nepal is a registered non-governmental, non-political, and non-profit organization committed to providing refuge, care, and developmental opportunities for orphaned, destitute, and marginalized children throughout Nepal. Since its establishment in 2002, the organization has grown into one of the country’s most trusted advocates for child welfare and rights.
Founded by Mr. Liladhar Bhandari, who himself experienced life as an orphan, DOCS Foundation Nepal draws inspiration and direction from lived experience and steadfast compassion. What began as a deeply personal mission has grown into a broad movement that empowers children with dignity, education, healthcare, and hope.
- Safe Shelter & Guardianship: Providing transit homes and nurturing environments where children can heal and flourish.
- Education & Empowerment: Supporting academic achievement through scholarships, reintegration into school, and meaningful learning opportunities.
- Community & Youth Development: Promoting leadership, environmental stewardship, and creative engagement to build resilient communities.
- Emergency Response: Offering relief and rehabilitation support during natural disasters and humanitarian crises.
Across Nepal, DOCS Foundation has touched the lives of hundreds, enabling children to break free from cycles of deprivation and to pursue careers in fields as diverse as engineering, medicine, business, and the arts
Why This Matters: The Scale of the Challenge
In Nepal, millions of children face profound challenges extreme poverty, limited access to healthcare and education, and heightened vulnerability to exploitation and child labor. Without protective interventions, countless young lives remain precarious. DOCS Foundation Nepal stands at the forefront of tackling these issues by offering holistic support and unwavering advocacy for child rights.
